Backstage Pass: July!

Well, what a month!

If this is the first time you are reading our blog, Welcome!

I use this area of the website to write my thoughts for the month. It's also a collection of stories and notes of what we did for the month. July was a great month for Zobie. We completed a few private signings, and I personally was able to go on a small trip with my family to Half Moon Bay, California.

Derek Mears Signing

The first thing we tackled this month was organizing signings in Kansas City and Washington DC...for the same day. Yes that's correct. I was going to conduct signings in Kansas City then fly to Washington DC. In order to do this, I was going to need help from my trust friends in the business. Frank, my JSA guy, flew with me to Kansas City early Friday am and we both traveled to St. Joseph in order to set up for a Derek Mears private signing. Once we were setup, I was able to text Derek to see if he was able to walk over and conduct the signing.

Derek is one of my favorite people in the Hollywood world and I would consider him a good friend. He is always down to help me with projects I have coming up and was a complete rock star in knocking out all of your items. Here are some photos and a video shout-out from the signing:

Trip to Washington DC with Sting

Next up for me was driving to the KC airport and boarding a flight straight to Washington DC to conduct a public appearance with Sting for Prime Time Appearances. Of course, my flight was delayed in Chicago and I was running from one terminal to another to try to catch the flight. Once I arrived, with my luck, I got a Uber driver that was feeling risky as he played chicken with incoming traffic. I hope that old man gets some glasses. lol

I got to my room at 2 AM local time and the appearance was going to be at 11:00 AM, so I knew it was going to be a rough day! ha. I woke up and met up with Stinger, so we could head over to the CSA show. Here are some behind the scenes photos:

Sting with George Foreman

Sting and I with Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture. These guys are some legit badasses!

Sting loves seeing the kids get excited and this is probably my favorite photo I took of that day.

Once we were in the photo op section, NFL player after player came in and requested photos with Sting and it was great to see how happy they were explaining to Sting how they were big fans growing up. It's great to see how everyone, deep down no matter the background, is a fan of pro wrestling.

I grew up a big fan, so if you told 8-year-old Jayare that I was going to grow up and travel the US with some of my heroes, I would have told you to sign me up!

Melvin Gordon and Stinger.

Sting and I went straight from the venue to his hotel, and then we went to the airport as we both had flights. Here is a view of KC from 35,000 feet.

Back to Kansas City!

As soon as I landed, I rushed over to the hotel to setup for Richard Brake. Keep in mind, my brain is scrambled and I have not eaten once...yup not once. When I arrived at the airport in DC, I could either run to use the restroom or get something to eat, but not both. I choose to use the restroom and jump on the plane. I told my friend, Matt, "we are so going to eat a large meal tonight". Luckily, I got some water and set-up for Doom Head quickly.

Richard Brake Signing

Look at the top left hand side of this photo. LOL I was throwing things around with the limited space and I was packing up once the signing was over and I realized that some photos were on the plants... literally.

Nick Castle Signing

During the time, Richard Brake was signing, Nick Castle was signing across the aisle, so here he is signing photos for us. As you can see Frank's finger ring, which has been seem in a majority of my proof photos... lol. This ring is quite the conversation piece at my signings.

Ari Lehman Signing

Next up was the first Jason himself, Ari Lehman. Ari and I chat quite a bit and he is always a pleasure to work with. He really loves the positive vibes the fans bring to his rock concerts and comic con table.

Ari with a shout out to Zobie!

Next up was a trip home for 2 days and then a relaxing couple of days with my family in California. This was honestly something I needed. I spend a lot of time catching flights to go conduct a private signing in some towns, and most of the time, I go from the airport to the host hotel and then back to the airport. If I get a chance to check out the city, I usually just stay in my room answering emails, Facebook messages, or on calls setting up other deals.

So there you go, I am just confirmed as a really boring person!

Half Moon Bay

Bradley Pierce and Zack Ward Signings

As soon as I landed, I went straight back to work as I had two signings with Bradley Pierce and Zack Ward. Here are some videos with special shout outs from Zack and Bradley.

Final Thoughts for July

I wanted to end this month's blog with some quick thoughts.

Lately, the Facebook community has grown a lot. I have never spent money on getting likes on Facebook as I really wanted the page to grow organically and every book on the internet will tell you that it's really about growing a following based on word of mouth that is key and not Facebook ads. You can get a million people to like your page on Facebook, but that doesn't equal sales. I think a lot of companies fall for this common practice way to many times.

I also want to personally thank all of you for joining the community on Facebook. We have grown a lot this year, because of you spreading the love and positive message of Zobie. As alot of you are aware, we are getting ready to launch the Zobie Box (our pop culture box) next month and if it wasn't for the continued support, I wouldn't be able to do what I do; grow my business to be a brand you can be proud of.

Last note, I always see comments regarding how Zobie will keep up with the current customer service level we have. My response is always the same. Customer Service... is the foundation of Zobie and you must have a good group of people around you, who share the same passions. Luckily for me, you guys have come into my life and supported Zobie since Day 1, and I am so thankful for it.

Thank you!

Jayare Gallegos
